The proverb says that work can be lengthened to fill the time gap for its attainment. This concept is referred to as Parkinson's Law. It's sometimes used to describe an institution's growing bureaucracy. The Pursuit of Progress was reproduced with other articles in the book, namely, Parkinson's Law. The Pursuit of Progress was written by Cyril Northcote Parkinson. It initially appeared in The Economist in 1955 in London. From his substantial knowledge in the British Civil Service, the maxim was formulated. A recent version of the law is indeed a mathematical equation that describes the pace at which bureaucracies expand over time, instead of the one to which Parkinson refers by that term in his article.
